Client Overview:

CMD pro­vide a total prod­uct range offer­ing under­floor power sys­tems, light­ing and power bus­bars, light­ing con­trol sys­tems, together with office power, cable man­age­ment & ergonomic solu­tions. Prod­ucts are designed and devel­oped to pro­vide instal­la­tions that are quick, easy and adapt­able for con­trac­tor, client and end user.

The Prob­lem:

• CMD had com­mis­sioned a web design agency to design and build their new web site, which included a 360 degree vir­tual tour.
• The client had 3 satel­lite web sites on the inter­net and wanted to amal­ga­mate these under the ban­ner of the new site as part of its mar­ket­ing strat­egy.
• The satel­lite web sites were heav­ily focused around spe­cific themes enjoy­ing high search engine rank­ings and exten­sive brand search vol­ume.
• The client wanted to ensure non of its traf­fic pro­file was lost as part of the rebrand­ing exer­cise.

What We Did:

• We pro­vided guid­ance to the clients web design agency on how to struc­ture the new web site for SEO.
• Con­sulted on how to pro­tect exist­ing traf­fic streams across the clients port­fo­lio.
• Pro­vided the nec­es­sary hands on server side script­ing work to sup­port the launch.
• Imple­mented on page opti­mi­sa­tion for the new client web site.
• Imple­mented a for­mal link build­ing and con­tent devel­op­ment strat­egy.

The Results:

This was a tech­ni­cal project, requir­ing in-depth knowl­edge. With our help the client has achieved its pri­mary goals:

• Both branded and Non-branded search traf­fic has remained sta­ble.
• All branded / unbranded search engine traf­fic now directs to the new CMD brand expe­ri­ence seam­lessly.
• Exist­ing rank­ings have been pro­tected.
• The new site has enjoyed a 156% increase in traf­fic, with all these vis­i­tors exposed to the new client brand­ing.

This project con­tin­ues to increase traf­fic month on month, cur­rently run­ning at around 10% per month.
